hello, would you recommend reading silk? I saw an issue at my lcs but I don't know anything about her, haha
Yes i totally recommend silk!! i love cindy so much, i actually cosplayed her this year lmao it was so fun!! shes one of my favorite spiders!
cindy first appears in the amazing spiderman series but its pretty gross and degrading, she was basically just peters exotic asian fuckbuddy… but u dont have to read it to enjoy her character, her solo series is so much better and completely reclaimed her character. cindys origin story is that she was bitten by the same spider as peter, but she developed the power to create her own organic silk (and cool claws). but after her discovery a guy called ezikiel locked her in a bunker for 10 years. later peter broke her out, but she found out her family was mysteriously disappeared while she was locked up. her solo starts with her adjusting to life in modern society while trying to find out what happened her family (and she broke things off w peter thank god).
silk is 2 volumes, the first is 7 issues (the trade paperback, or book version, is called vol 0: the life and times of cindy moon) and the second volume is ongoing right now! shes such a fun and interesting character, i hope u enjoy reading her comics!
