[Spoiler] In my AC Odyssey game, there’s a stupid...
Not there yet myself, but since sleep deprivation is a very common torture technique, and we know for a fact that Deimos was tortured by Crysis since they were a kid - it is easy to see why he would have trouble sleeping. He probably still instinctively expects someone to wake him up each time he starts feeling sleepy. And Adrestia is full of people. I won’t be surprised if Deimos only sleeps when locked in the room alone, of when passed out from exhaustion.
😭 😭 😭 My poor insomniac baby!
That makes perfect sense, by the way. I wasn’t even thinking about that. All I was thinking was how weird that glitch was. (It was really weird, you see. He’d walk to a spot, sit down, get back up immediately, run to another spot, walk back to the same spot, and start the whole process again and again. That’s why I was pretty sure it was a glitch.) I do have a headcanon that his sleep pattern is all messed up, but your observation about sleep deprivation as torture technique makes it so much more heartbreaking. I can’t go back to thinking of it as a silly glitch anymore.
On a slightly related note, this reminds me of what I posted a while back: "I have a headcanon that in Assassin’s Creed games, the glitches aren’t actually glitches. They’re actually in the memories of the Assassins (or the Templars), whose minds have drifted toward insanity after years of loss and killing." Maybe that's the case with this 'glitch’.
I’m probably as sleep-deprived as Alex on the Adrestia right now. I hope I make sense here. ^^
