Stop panicking
People in Austin and Dallas are cleaning out Costco and networking to find gas stations to line up at, messaging over Facebook and neighborhood boards about fuel.
Stop. Just stop.
Stop inserting yourself into a tragedy because you don't want to miss it. This is social Munchausen syndrome and it's sick. If your grocery store still has a hummus bar and 7 kinds of milk, you need to back off.
Take that energy and empathy and help. Donate to the Houston Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul, or your favorite charity. That helps.
Staying logged on and lining up for things you don't need doesn't help. Staking out gas stations is ridiculous.
Stop feeling like you need to own a piece of this if it's not yours. FOMO does not apply here.
