heyyy y'all, sorry for not posting as much today! i really wanted to focus this friday on helping train my pokémon, and since i don't have a queue at the moment, i was a bit silent today. thanks for the understanding, y'all.
y'all ever just think about how, when the movie princess and the froakie was first released, a bunch of kids just got hospitalized after trying to kiss a froakie themselves? or how jaws had caused a significant spike in sharpedo being hunted due to how drastically the public's perception of them changed– and that, in some places, their populations still haven't returned to their previous numbers?
all i can hope is that the upcoming 101 herdier reboot won't inspire anything..
despite popular belief, most klefki won't break into your house and steal your keys. they only exhibit kleptomaniacal behavior out of desperation when they're starved for the metal which they feed on. if you do see a klefki trying to brute force their way in, you should try giving them a bit of scrap metal to satiate their hunger!
Hi! Thanks for following me and Crouton. What does Neobyte do?
so, neobyte has a bug in their coding that basically means that they cannot read or interpret some of their programming– for example, they can't use many moves associated with the species and have a hard time interacting with physical, non-organic objects. for these reasons, they aren't registered as one of my battling pokémon. instead, they're my companion who's been with me since i was a kid– instead of being thrown out, neobyte was left in the care of my uncle, who let my family adopt them.
neobyte is, for the most part, a very normal porygon. they really love going inside all of my electronics and messing with them, simply because that's one of the few things they can physically do. sometimes, they delete my spotify playlists, or they'll write me little notes, or they'll change my computer's entire layout and have my cursor changed into a gif of professor yukinari oak dancing.. for some reason. they've also been known to post things on my snapchat and instagram, but hopefully i've trained them enough to curb that habit.

WHAT ARE ILLUMINA POKÉMON?
first, let's dive into the facts of the matter.
1. illumina pokémon are bioluminescent, and often much larger than their standard counterparts. the current cause for this is scientifically unknown.
2. they are only found in the lental region, which is almost entirely uninhabited, save from a few researchers.
3. they are being studied by one dr. kagami, at the region's LENS lab. not much is known about him, either.
with those few things out of the way, then, here are some popular theories about these mysterious pokémon.
1. as usual, the first theory lies on aliens: the most popular of these theories being that the illumina pokémon are either aliens themselves, or have been affected by aliens in some way. personally, the latter is far more believable to me, even as outlandish as it is. the possibility of some meteor crash spreading some type of alien bacteria/virus is low, but there have actually been records of a meteor strike threatening that general area thousands of years ago. however, there's no record that the crash actually h a p p e n e d, so i find this one to be most likely untrue.
2. illumina is a temporary state, much like mega evolution or giganta/dynamaxing. this one relies on the fact that the two of them cause pokémon to give off some type of glow– either in one short burst with the former, or for as long as the state lasts with the latter. i definitely think this one is less out there than the first theory, but this doesn't explain why illumina pokémon are only found in the lental region, or how it's caused in the first place. still, this might explain why these pokémon tend to be so much larger than normal.
3. illumina pokémon are actually subspecies of pokémon. this is another one that i'm not too keen of, because, frankly, it doesn't make sense. basically, the theory is that, due to some type of environmental differences on the archipelagos, illumina pokémon have adapted bioluminescence and gigantism over the years– if that were the case though, why would there be so few specimens of them, and how would the islands' environment require the need for large, glowing pokémon as opposed to the standard? these aren't like regional variants in alola and galar, because these are the same pokémon with no type differences or drastic appearance changes (despite being huge and glowing, of course), so why all the cosmetic changes? this just doesn't really feel like it would be the truth.
4. last and kind of least: illumina pokémon are a hoax! that they're just.. not real, and either photoshopped or faked in some other way. this one is just.. the most ridiculous to me because.. why? why would an acclaimed scientists and pokémon researcher waste his time with pokémon that aren't real? why would anyone fake this to begin with, especially since lental doesn't rely on the tourism industry? yeah, no. i just can't bring myself to believe that, despite how weird it is, that it just isn't real.
in my opinion, i think that illumina is some kind of permanent change to a pokémon's form, but is less drastic than evolution. maybe it's some kind of permanent dynamax, due to something weird about the region? who knows, honestly. despite how much we do know about pokémon, there's still so many weird things about them that have yet to be truly understood. still, if it really is something to do with aliens, or even regional variants, any kind of information on the illumina phenomenon would be a complete breakthrough in the study of pokémon as we know it.
If any of my mutuals or followers is playing to Sky I would be glad to add some people in it !
I started 3 weeks ago and I love it and regret not starting before even though I had the game on my ipad for months ðŸ˜
For those who doesn’t know about the game, it’s a free mobile game by That Game Company, the one who, made Journey and Flower. It looks a lot like Journey, not only visually, but narratively and gameplay wise too, so if you loved Journey you’ll love Sky. (Oh also it’s coming for switch soon hehe)
It’s a mmo of sort based on mutual help, a vast majority of players are sweet, veterans often help newbies, and it’s overall very cute. The world is pretty and fascinating, there’s a lot of hidden stuff, and you can personnalize your sky kid with the game currencies.
Also there is an ongoing event which ends in a month or so, with a new area that change with the quest you do, a little story and special cosmetics for your character. And a one week event for doubling the number of hearts (one of the 2 currencies) your receive from friends is ongoing. Plus they added a temporary pack to raise money to help fight covid (100% of the money of that pack go to that)
Speaking of covid if you’re quarantining, I’ve seen a few people saying playing the game kinda help them with their solitude so there is that.
Anyway if you’re already playing or if you want to try it and want to add me don’t hesitate 💖
