yeah, i getchu. i don’t really know what to do about that stuff either, so i tend to just…not reblog/retweet things from people who have stuff like that in their bio. i know that many people have valid reasons for not wanting to interact with shippers of certain ships, but often it just comes across as really immature shipping-war-esque anti behavior, and i don’t really want to support people who think like that.

Yeah, generally I’ve just been avoiding interacting with people who put that on those posts. Again I’m just confused as they seem to only ever talk about “shippers” which is not something I consider myself to be in any fashion. Not even “wholesome ships” really.

I have people who follow me who have extreme dislikes for some ships but who are my friends, so I make sure to always tag for ships like that (although I might screw up so when I do please poke me, guys!). But having friends against certain ships also means I fully understand their reasons. And it isn’t always ship wars or anti behaviour. And I think because I know it often ISN’T anti behaviour or ship wars and just a genuine request I never know how to handle a request like that, you know?

At the moment I’m just like “safest not to interact with them at all” and I mean that’s fine. I’m cool with just keeping it that way, but my brain demands clarification XD if that makes sense. Because this feels vague and uncertain and my head is just like “Can we please just clear this up a little?” because it REALLY hates uncertainty and guesswork.

Basically I’m not trying to “Get permission” via a loophole. My brain just needs opinions on this so it can relax and shut up or it’s gonna hamsterwheel this problem for the next 2 years looking for an answer to the question.

yup, i looked into the manga the last time you talked about it, and you’re definitely not the only one seeing it. i only read bits here and there (the manga didn’t really do it for me, and i wasn’t interested in reading the whole thing) so i thought maybe it was accidental, but the scene where the wolf and the bunny try to have sex made me go “um…this isn’t about eating at all anymore, is it?”

‘cause i’m the same, there are a lot of ships that i don’t actively ship but aren’t against either, and i might like or reblog or retweet them if i see something i like, but i wouldn’t count myself as a “shipper” of them. so yeah, when i see someone go “dni if you support [ship]”, i never know if that includes me haha. and that’s why i usually don’t reblog/retweet from them, at least that way i can’t fuck up.

can people like. not take people’s personal opinions (and critical analysis) so goddamn personally?? just because someone says “this thing about this series bothers me, i will now try to analyze why it bothers me” doesn’t mean they’re saying THIS SERIES IS BAD AND PROBLEMATIC AND NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO LIKE IT. like jeez, it’s possible to like something and also be critical of it, and even if someone doesn’t like something doesn’t mean others aren’t allowed to. ffs

I think anon perhaps just missunderstood where my problem lies BECAUSE people on tumblr especially really DO take this kind of thing so seriously XDD and it may have come across as me just going “this show is bad because its problematic content bothers me! Why does it have fans if it’s problematic!” rather than “This show has problematic content and it makes me uncomfortable that I haven’t seen anyone even mention it”. Which I think is an easy mistake to make X’D especially as I am a very vocal about “I may not like x but I’m not gonna attack people who do!”

I myself have had tumblrs I follow say things like “If you ship f*ntcest you’re bad!! >:( “ but than have the double standard that if they have a ship that even resembles the thing they hate they go “no but see this ship that I like is DIFFERENT so it’s ok.”

And I think anon was just disappointed that I came across as having the same double standard of “it’s ok to like problematic things as long as they don’t make me uncomfortable but if they make me uncomfortable you’re bad for liking it.”

Because let’s face it >_> a LOT of people on tumblr (and twitter) are exactly like this.

But yeah :) I feel it was important for me to analyse my own feelings as to why “this is different”. But I think that’s why talking about it online is valuable, because I can better understand how I feel about this and what other people’s take away is.

....which is also why it was annoying that it seemed to me nobody was talking about this XDDD
