Sheith baby sitting on shiro's shoulders in the grocery store
melt my heart just MELT IT
āWhat do you think,ā Shiro mumbleshalf under his breath, āroasted garlic or Italian herbs and spice?ā
āGah!ā the little voice says, punctuated with a grab to his ear that makes Shiro wince.
āYeah, I donāt know the difference either, little man. Ten bucks says they taste exactly the same.ā Frowning down at thetwo jars in his hands, Shiro slowly puts back the roasted garlic spaghettisauce.
āNo!ā
āNo?ā Shiro says, taking back thejar. āBut I thought we didnāt know the difference.ā
Suspicious silence reigns, and whenShiro reaches back, he finds several fingers stuffed into a tiny baby mouth.
āIs that what we do with ourfingers?ā Shiro asks, laughing as he tugs him out. A wet hand lands on his neckin retaliation, followed by an outpouring of gibberish words. āFine, Iāll getthe roasted garlic one. But if your dad doesnāt like it, Iām telling him itāsyour fault, okay?ā
More excited wet slaps on his neck.āDa!ā
āYup, your dadās the one who wantsto make spaghetti,ā Shiro says, tucking the jar into the cart slowly so as notto upset the precious cargo on his shoulders.
āDadaba.ā
āHe does like spaghetti a lot. Morethan anything in the whole world, even.ā
āI donāt know if I would say that,āKeith interrupts, laughing behind them. Shiro turns around with a sheepish grinon his face as Keith puts a bag of eggplants and a tub of breadcrumbs into thecart.
āYou sure? Iāve seen the way youslurp down a plate of spaghetti, babe, and I really think thereās somethingthere.ā Shiro waggles his eyebrows suggestively and gets an eye roll for hisefforts.
āYouāre corrupting our son,ā Keithsays, reaching up to pull him off Shiroās shoulders and hold him on his hip. āDonātlisten to anything he tells you, kid, itās all slander.ā
āI would never,ā Shiro says, drawing closer because he can never stand this far away from his family for toolong. He puts his hands on Keithās hips and presses a feather light kiss to hisforehead. Keith hums and lays a dry kiss on Shiroās jaw in return beforepulling away.
āCome on,ā he says, looking likeeverything Shiroās ever wanted with a soft look on his face and their kid inhis arms underneath the shitty light of the grocery store. āThe faster wecheckout, the faster we get dinner on the table.ā
