New goal in life
http://static.zreomusic.com/music/05_Ocarina_of_Time/71_Kotake_&_Koume%27s_Theme.mp3 Do a Pairlocke run with a couple named Koume and Kotake. It'd be a FF team with two psychic/ghost/or dark types. Fuck yeah. So doing that later on in the future.
Also, update on the wedlocke! Sue and Lou (Roselia+Graveller) have been retired and are staying with an in-story OC who lives in Jubilife City. They have been replaced by the amazing Sherry and Mark! (Chansey+Gible) What a pair! If only she were fairy, eh?

Caught a ralts in the pairlocke. Might never use it, but holyshit was that a surprise.
Y Pairlocke
A while ago I said I'd be doing an X Pairlocke. Things changed due to my second copy of X not arriving in a timely manner. So instead I'm doing one in Y! 8D
Rules are again:
If a pokemon Faints its considered dead and cannot be used again (except for if a particular HM is needed).
You may only catch the first Eligible Pokemon encountered on a route (Same egg group as your unpaired Pokemon (If your unpaired pokemon is a baby-mon or you're fighting a baby-mon as the case may be with Azurill, look at final egg group). If there are no unpaired Pokemon, normal Nuzlocke rules apply. Dupes Clause is always on.
All Pokemon must be nicknamed.
Pokemon fight in pairs and can only switch between those pairs unless both faint.
If a Pokemon becomes unpaired in battle and you have Pokemon in the PC, check there first before you go running to the next route. Select the first eligible pokemon from the PC to become their their new partner.
Pairs cannot be deposited or moved into the PC.
No wonder trading allowed, however in-game trades that don't break pairs, and trading for the sake of evolution, is allowed.
Any location with "Shaking Spot" encounters gets two encounter options: The normal catch, and one attempt at the "Shaking Spot".
Any route divided in two parts (for example route 8's upper and lower areas) count as separate routes.
Shinies ignore all rules regarding the Pairlocke.
PokemonAmie maxing out is required for every Pokemon you catch and is actively in your party. This is a bonding experience after all.
Super Training is Allowed.
X Pairlocke Rules
So a while ago, Mariland created the Wedlocke, a variant of the Nuzlocke challenge.
Now, many many people, myself included, have had issues with the Male/Female only pairs that the Wedlocke demands. Yes, his reasoning for it makes sense, but I refuse to confine myself to a bunch of opposite gendered pokemon.
So when X and Y come out... I'm running what I'm calling a Pairlocke. The rules of the Pairlocke are nearly identical, except without the 'no catching genderless' rule and without the 'male female only pairs'.
If a pokemon dies, its dead.
You must catch the first eligible pokemon you encounter on a route. Eligible will be defined later in the rules.
All pokemon must be nicknamed.
"Dupes clause" is on by default.
Pairs cannot be deposited into the PC (nor Moved).
You may only switch between Pokemon in a given pair, exceptions being made for Triple/Rotation battles, and the new Sky Battles if you Pair partners are not both capable of participating.
Now, Eligibility.
Pokemon fight in pairs in the Wed/Pairlocke. In the wedlocke these pairs are Male/Female, and only Male/Female.
In the Pairlocke eligibility is defined not by gender, but by Egg Group. A Pokemon is eligible if it is in the same Egg Group as your unpaired Pokemon. Once you have a pair, you may catch a pokemon from a new egg group.
Now, because of Dupes, this could be a potential problem, so if there will be no eligible Pokemon for the next two-to-three routes (your choice) you may leave that Pokemon unpaired and work on a different pair until an eligible Pokemon is available. If more than three routes go without that Pokemon's Egg Group, that Pokemon must be boxed and left in the PC until a potential partner joins the team.
