“I’ve got you”
(... this may have hurt a touch to write)
How was this happening? Wasn’t he the shield? Wasn’t it his job to carry Noct out of a bad way? And yet... Here Gladio sat like a child in the shallow of the river, Noct wiping the blood from his skin slowly. The other two sat by, Ignis quietly assessing from afar what needs would have to be met injury wise when Noct was done. Gladio wasn’t even sure how it happened to be honest. He’d just gone mad. Fury from Ravus overcoming him, it tore his mindset out of where it was supposed to be and had him focused on nothing more than revenge. Everything that got inbetween him and his goal, that was only a necessary cost for him to feel better.
But feeling better never lasted long. Not when one failure shadowed him like a freaking ten ton brick.
“I’ll do better from now on.” He said simply. “I can be better.”
