I wanna make something very clear: i love dean, i really really do but hell, the way the fandom is always so ready to defend him (and let's be real now, cas too) no matter what is astonishing, and not in a positive way. I don't get what sam did that dean didn't to deserve all this hate all the time. Last time i checked they both fucked up pretty bad multiple times.
 âOh sam once was a freak addicted to demonâs bloodâ, yes bc he was a wreck and he was trying to get dean back from hell (after he sold his soul) and he didnât know another way. âSamâs the guy who freed lucifer and broke the last seal and the apocalypse is on himâ,yes the âlastâ seal so 1) it means that there were more than one, 2) a âlastâ wouldnât exists without a âfirstâ, and refresh my memory whoâs the person who broke that one again?. And then thereâs my favorite, the whole downfall spiral of season 8-9-10 that started with âif something happens we have to promise each other weâll go on with our lives and let the other goâ to 10x22 promo âyou should be the one to burn not charlieâ. With a whole bag full of crap in between those two extremes that is, somehow, all samâs fault. Â
You really canât see that those events are all connected? one fucked up thing leads to another and then other and another and another. All because of the same old âcodependentâ (beware âcoâ implies reciprocity) relationship the show is based on.Â
So excuse me if i get bitter when i hear some people say that sam deserves all the shame and guilt he gets but itâs not true that half of the fandom hates him or uses him as a scapegoat.
