Wish we had been given more time to explore this large archaeological site, about 50 km south of Lima. The ruins of a pre-Inca urban settlement, dating to perhaps 2,000 years BP, Pachamac was a thriving place when Pizarro and company wrecked havoc on the Inca Empire. It was abandoned after the conquest. If I have another chance to explore in Perú, Pachamac will be high on the list of places to see.
