let's get it started let me see whatcha got can ya take it up a knotch? don't think you got it can't handle the pressure? @mieunmi
a childish competition, really. one that had a winner from the first shot, but eunmi is nothing if not persistent if she doesn’t get her way. though, there is the notion that he simply allows it because of his own nature. too relaxed and casual for her. easy-going whereas eunmi has to have things her way. of course, it brings a sense of balance and they likely need it for this idiotic of a game.
they just so happened to end up at the same shooting range, at the same time, and just like that she’d baited him into “ helping ” her. the truth is, eunmi’s known how to shoot a gun since she was six. a precaution, her caretaker insisted, and the reason for it only came out when she was eight, circumstances she rarely speaks of let alone tells anyone of it.
the paper targets come flying towards them and she’s visibly bothered by the two shots that’d been off just a little in comparison to his. she’s never once asked why he’s such a good shot. there are questions you don’t ask on this island. only a fool would dare. no, instead, her foolishness manifests in other ways, and she’s grinning when she turns to him, “ want to take this somewhere else? i have a more fun target in mind. ”
jaehyun rarely turned down a challenge he knew he could win easily. this was one of those cases. shooting had never been his best ability, if he had to be honest. he was better than average, he knew how to work with different shooting weapons. maybe he had an addiction to the adrenaline he felt whenever the bullets were fired, the loud noise echoing around them. however, he sees quickly through eunmi’s facade about the helping bit. she could easily take anyone that let their guard down with those shots.
he doesn’t even comment on the fact that his were better, there was no need for it as he reloaded the gun, getting ready to shoot again. jaehyun wasn’t a show off, he took the proper stance, gun in both hands and aimed for the next target, but the girls words make him pause and lower his gun. “define fun target and maybe i’ll consider it.” he says, not even looking at her as he clicks the safety of his gun back on.
there were questions that surfaced once he saw eunmi shoot, but he knew better than asking. so naturally, he pushed those questions to the back of his head. what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him, at least not now. “also, what was the whole bullshit about helping you? you really don’t need my help.” he asks, almost sighing. it seemed like a general waste of time all of this.
