About two years ago, I took a trip with a couple friends down to Richmond. We drove down in my friend's old beige Town&Country Minivan with a sliding door. I sat in the middle row so I could stretch out across the bench style seating. A little ways outside of Richmond we stopped at a restaurant called "Johnny Rockets" for dinner. We laughed, ate, paid and walked back out to the van. Since I was the last to pay, I walked out of the restaurant last. Checking Facebook on my phone, I walked up to the old beige Minivan, opened sliding door and climbed inside, and buckled myself up. I should mention that I was slightly confused due to the bench style seating somehow transforming itself into two completely separate individual second row seats. I looked to the front of the van to see a highly unfamiliar man and a woman staring at me in shock.

I feel that this story relates to the scene where Navidson reenters the house and finds it to be different that it was before. Obviously I had climbed into the wrong van by mistake, but this brings up the concept of perceived reality vs. actual reality which seems very closely related to this book.
