It was my understanding that the Phantom of The Opera would never return to production after it closed down for good a few years back. It was a bitter fact I had no choice but to accept after multiple missed opportunities to see it. I've always been too broke.

To my absolute elation, P.O.T.O is opening in SF next year and I told my Mom about it so we can go see it. And my sister ofc. But she's making me wait on standby while tickets sell for her bf to verify if he wants to or not. So if he doesn't want to, she's not willing to drive an hour and a half to the show. I'm always out of the question when it comes to driving, they NEVER EVER want me to drive anywhere important, and I'm sick of it. I said 'so if you don't want to drive, you won't even let me?' and she said 'are you crazy? Absolutely not, it's crazy in SF.'

I saw my dreams crumble in that moment, I saw all my pent up hopes for this production and this experience fall before my eyes. And I refused. I snapped, "if you don't want to drive and you won't let me, then I'll find someone who *will* because I'm GOING to see it. I'm GOING to see this musical." I marched out of the room and she said, aghast, "wow" like I'd just slapped her.

I'm in my room now reeling, I'm just so angry I could cry. I'm TWENTY SEVEN, how does she still have the ability to make me feel 13?! I'm tired of being infantilized, I'm sick of being stuck at home because the world's so scary. I WANT to live.

She has a bf who can take her wherever she wants. And the same for my sister. And my brother goes out all the time too.

WHY, why do I have to HAVE someone to live life? WHY can't I just LIVE alone, let myself experience fun things for ME?

I only saw Weezer live in concert last year because I paid for my sister and her bf's tickets. I should've been able to go alone. But they'd never let me do it.
