can you see through me?

Summer had her eyes at the coffee vending machine in front of her, waiting for her capuccino to be finished. At this point it didnât matter how much caffeine she had inside of her body, she was still feeling tired, after changing clothes and getting some rest she was back at the same place she probably didnât want to look at anymore. That hospital became a character in her own story, it was the living memory of an accident she never thought sheâd go through. Even if she wasnât saying it out loud, she needed her siblings more than anything. When Gavril asked if she had called them, it was hard to acknowledge the fact life was being unfair and she was unable to contact them at first. She took some fresh air along with Alex on her way back home and while it was a failed attempt of forgetting it all, it was better than nothing. Now, she was glad Violet had picked up, but waiting each minute from the moment Summer hung up the phone until Violet would get there was racking.
No one knew her as much as the Hales; Summer didnât allow anyone else to get through her skin, to truly see her. And the wait to let go of a mask she was so used at wearing was stressing her out, as much as the machine who didnât want to give her an escape, playing with her lack of patience. âCome on,â she gave a tiny slap on the side of the machine, watching as the liquid was finally coming out. But, a few seconds after a smile came, as if she had won that battle against the machine, none of that matter. Not when somehow she knew had arrived. Summer could feel she wasnât alone anymore and as she turned her back she could see her sister. A sigh of relief made all of her system feel better, but at the same time, she wasnât okay. Summer was far from it. She didnât need words from Violet, she didnât need anything. It was almost as if she was five years old again, the first time she fell and bruised her knee, it was the same feeling of fear, of facing something she had never faced before. She was hurt, she couldnât move her neck due to the collar she had to use for a few more hours but Summer found the strength within herself to create quick steps until Violet, hugging her, allowing a few tears to fall. Summer knew that if she opened her mouth she would cry, but being quiet was as torturing as the first option. âIt was so scary, V.â
