I think Sybil would be proud of Tom, how hard he's tried with her family and what a devoted father he's been to her baby, despite being in an incredible amount of pain.

I feel like Edith being used to replace Sybil as the "revolutionary sister" and I wish she could just be her own person.

I think the Sybil/Tom fics are really sappy and silly and most of them aren't true to their characters at all. The saddest part is I've read so many of them, I've lost the magic of how the characters really were when I first started to ship them.

I don't understand what happened with Tom in Ireland. And how involved he was with the fire at the castle. He hid he was attending those meetings from Sybil, so was he guilty?

I'm still not sure if I should have taken offense on Sybil's behalf for the comment Tom made in the S3x01 - "Don't disappoint me, not now that we're here."

sometimes i feel that the institutionalization and assbackwardness of the aristocracy is what really killed sybil. all she wanted to do was to escape her old life but it ended up consuming her in the end.

I hate the way the women in this show have very little choice in who they marry - Daisy was essentially bullied into it, Branson kept pursuing Sybil and telling her that she was in love with him until she started to believe it, Cora had to marry Robert so her family could keep their heads up. Yes, that's what life was like for women during the time of the show, but it's still sad.
