If someone had taken a good look at Anka, they would’ve thought she was possessed. Her eyes were red-rimmed and sunken in, her stare empty. She moved with a purpose - it was jarring to see on her, who usually had a carefree swing in her step. Her jaw was clenched just tight enough to keep the floodgates within her at bay.

She had shut down the moment she heard the news. 

She almost never got to see Corinne anymore, with her not trusting the managers at the Palais. She walked the streets alone, preferring not to be pinned down and Anka respected that. Now she would give anything for the chance to keep her safe. To keep her alive.

Amycus Carrow was a natural when it came to magic.  He started performing wandless magic when he was barely out of nappies.  Gaining his wand never really hampered him when it came to being able to perform certain wandless spells the way that it did many other Witches and Wizards.  And despite the fact that he loathed all things that even remotely resembled studying and school, he somehow managed to be utterly ruthless and brutal on the battlefield and could perform complex spells with ease.

These facts, however, should never be taken to mean that Amycus was perfect, that he shouldn't have studied, or that he really knew what to do with the raw power that roiled from his fingertips every time he got a little pissed off.

And so, when he was sitting in the little clothing shoppe that his sister favoured at the edge of Diagon Alley and waiting for the seamstress to finish up a new slinky little gown that he was hoping would make her happy, it wasn't really all that surprising when something bad happened.  One second he was sitting and calmly causing a flame to burst to life in his hand before snapping it out again, mainly just passing the time while the lady finished making alterations in the back because clothes were boring and really 'Lecto should appreciate this even more because of his sacrifice...

The next he was watching in shock as a nearby dress made of something called 'Rayon' went up in a Swoosh! that danced from the mannequin beside him to the one beside it and down the line like a row of dominoes.
