The views through legit streaming sources OR DVRing the show and watching it within a week of original airing are the only ways non-Nielsen homes get counted. It’s a very strange system.
Ah, that's what I thought, I'm glad to have someone confirm this! So really, the best way for us non-Nielsen folks to support a show, then (besides the typical social media stuff that lends to its cultural absorption) is to watch it after the fact on dvr/hulu/etc? Maybe those numbers still aren't as important to advertisers for some ridiculous, antiquated reason, but at least they are counted?

hey guys just as a quick note: Owen's going in for surgery early tomorrow morning. it's a fairly simple procedure--he's just going to be in overnight for observation and then coming home (well, his mom's house) to relax for a few days--but any good thoughts/wishes/prayers would be appreciated!
