Writing something and I need to know. Does it make sense for Henry to experience cuteness aggression? Towards Ralph specificly?
Or is that stupid? I need to know before I make myself out as a fool.
Just saying it out loud makes me think "Yeah... no he would NOT." But kind of hear me out. I'm thinking of it showing up in that kind of... more aggressive way. Like he doesn't 100% see it as "oh I think he's cute." but more "I want to hurt him. Well, not actually, but also I need to see him explode." Kind of way.
Henry doesn't WANT Ralph gone, but he also feels like he needs him to for his sake. Bro cannot handle the big feelings of actually loving someone (platonic and/or romantic)
But I think the main issue is actually more so the idea of Henry thinking of Ralph as cute / adorable in the first place. Like out of any way Henry could see Ralph, does "cute" and "adorable" actually fit?
It reminds me of people writing ships where they call each other pet names but like most of them don't stick or even make sense for those characters to call each other. Except instead of pet names, it's.. uh.. compliments?
Should mention that I do not see Henry ONLY thinking of Ralph that way, he see's him a bunch of other ways. I'm just wondering if "cute & adorable" is one of those ways.
Another thing to add that might save my ass (lol): I think what I mean when I think Henry would see Ralph that way is like "I love you and care about you, and I just want to protect you." Not in a infantilizing way (please god I hope it doesn't come across like that.) But more.. well idk, simply wanting to see him safe and happy.
I mean, that can also go into a whole nother dicussion of "Would Henry even give a fuck enough to feel that way?" And to that; UHH... Yes? Probably.
Like If I said this about Ralph, it would 100% make sense. But this is about Henry, so it doesn't as much. My opinion is that Ralph loves / cares about Henry more. But not by a lot, might I add. Or it's equal and Henry just doesn't express it as much, who knows.
EDIT!!: Okay I think it's only adorable and not cute. Those words may be similer but they sorta mean something different, enough that cute isn't the right word. I only mean adorable.
In conclusion; Yes, Henry would see Ralph as adorable. I didn't need to write a whole ass rant about it to figure that out. Or maybe I did, who can truly know?
