A few days ago, I posted a pic of a still life.

It was the first painting I did using the set-up suggested by artist Carol Marine for maintaining consistent lighting while painting still life.

In my haste to get praises and accolades, I posted a pic of the painting taken with my iPhone in lighting that was not ideal and showed lots of glare.

My apologies.

Lesson learned – I took the painting outside today during a very overcast day where light was evenly diffused and the little painting showed every temperature and relative color interaction I had observed and purposely marked. 

It was alive.
