So I was told by someone close to me that I should start a blog on my beautiful dog who has been thru hell in the 4 short years shes been alive. I will say that I will not be stating who the breeder was I got her from and I am not against responsible breeders as long as they do it the right way. My girl Clare was bred every single heat cycle she had and she has had over 60 puppies in just 4 years. This is her story from when I got her in Feb until currently and things that were found out thru the vet. So I would like to introduce everyone to Clare she is a 4 year old Exotic American Bully who was overbred.

In a pet caregivers' group here, the topic of pugs and other overbred dog breeds with notorious syndromes of various maladies came up. Some people got a little defensive about things. (Taking "We shouldn't have done this to them" to mean "We should kill all the pugs" because that's a totally rational jump, there.) This was all I had to contribute:

me internally: your cat is most likely in constant physical pain because of overbreeding and/or a birth defect :))))))) cute :)))))))))

The overbreeding of pets is something that legit bothers me. People who aren’t okay with eating animals are okay with breeding them to be so “cute” their eyes can fall out of their damned head or they can’t breathe or their digestion is compromised so they’re at vastly increased risk of bowel cancer, all to make them fit your idea of cute. Dogs shouldn't be bred so they can't run and jump and play to suit your aesthetic. Cats shouldn't be bred to have no tails so they can't jump properly. Doing that shit on purpose is messed up.
