Cons on casually overdressing and accessorising: when expected to dress up e.g. to parties with costume themes you find yourself “dressing down“ because on average, the expected costumes are STILL less over the top than your daily looks. And that’s so weird to me, how do I dress MORE than what is considered to be “more“. I find myself dressing “less“ than usual when trying to fit into the expected “more“ for the party. And that’s such a weird experience that fucks with my brain, because the costume experience is supposed to be the fun once-in-a-while dress up, but my daily look is that already
