I don't get why people don't understand cats. I mean, cats get pissy after some pats, most people think anyway. Thing is, most people will pet a cat the exact same way, in the exact same spot.
I find that if a friend or lover is doing similar on my arm or back, the first few times is pleasurable. Then it stops being pleasurable. Then it starts getting irritating. Until you need to move or stop what they are doing.
Then they get confused because what caused pleasure is now irritating. But it's like the water on a stone. Anything is OK short term. But maybe my.. and cats.. toleration time is far shorter than the average human. I can pet a cat for ages. I change the movement and location every couple of pats.
I get it, I'm a cat. Repetition is incredibly irritating.
