i always thought it would be cool if ouyang had more water coding, especially in the context of his relationship with zhu, like wouldn't it be sick as fuck symbolically if their shared destinies were started when zhu (fire-coded) drowned ouyang's army and when ouyang (water-coded) burned down zhu's monastery

like i tend to think about esen as more narrative device than a character to think about separately because his relationships with the other characters are easily my favorite thing about him, which is why he became ouyang's trophy wife π
important ouyang question:
how do we think ouyang would feel about sports? because i think that is an interesting question that we as a nation are not adressing. i was gonna post this as a poll but tbh there is too much potential answers i think. like, obviously he is a general so there is a baseline level of ability there, but also that doesn't tranalate to enjoyment, right. sports just have so many gendered connotations and are just like, very bodily, which could make for an interesting torment nexus for him.
