Outside Swimming: A start on my piece for 'movement'
And as I swim through the darkness I feel the water smooth itself around my arms, embracing me into the blackness. Underwater pressure presses my goggles into my sockets. Migraine pain pulses through my eyes, I am alone. Twenty five metres of liquid road to myself. Butteryfly, my lungs expand as my rib cage stretches and my legs mermaid their way through the cold. Outside swimming, the stars loom above me watching my stroke, the moon acts as my coach as I force myself to impress it. The tiny tiles barely visible reflect upwards like the scales of fish, mocking me on my need for the night air.
