//I haven’t talked that much about my opinions on P4 but since there’s discourse on the dash I might as well-
My P4 hot take is that P4 is the funniest Persona game but it still has a LOT of jokes that feel really icky and if P4R gets rid of those icky jokes that’s a good thing, actually.
Because yeah character flaws are great and all but Yosuke’s homophobia is not written like a character flaw. It’s written like a silly joke and nobody ever really calls him out on it. Obviously I love that the fandom has made him more nuanced and given him development from that and it would be GREAT if P4R did that too but if they won’t I’d rather they just get rid of the homophobia completely.
Also sorry I always hated the bike scene and pretty much every scene with Hanako because the way the game treats fat people is so gross and mean and I’m praying Revival fixes it.
(Actually I hate pretty much the whole school festival but since we’ve seen that Revival is changing some part of it with Rise I have a little bit of hope it won’t be as bad…)
I don’t have as much to say about the transphobia towards Naoto because I know a lot of it was translation error that will hopefully be fixed but I’ll always love trans Naoto headcanons regardless of what P4R’s translation does.
Anyway I really, really do love P4. It’s my second favorite Persona game behind P3. But some parts of it were kind of unbearable to me and if P4R fixes those parts I’ll be really happy ðŸ˜
