So, there you have it, folks. Another Outlander premiere afterparty done right. 👏

As for dates, seems Sam went solo. Tony probably went back to the UK, so Cait was solo too, and Terry wasn't there, so Ron was solo as well. (For ES who will rejoice that Tony wasn't there, um Terry wasn't there either, that doesn't mean that Cait isn't married to Tony, or Ron isn't married to Terry. JS) Glad to hear Rik is still with his long time love, Cara Theobold.

I came to Outlander in a different way than most. I had shoulder surgery the summer of 2014 and had asked friends to recommend books to me because I knew I’d be out of commission for awhile. One friend recommended Outlander, and since I’m a sci-fi nerd AND love historical drama, that one was right up my alley. So I immediately downloaded in onto my Kindle - no research of any kind, just bought it. But after the surgery, I was in such pain that I couldn’t concentrate enough to read that book, so I started with lighter, shorter fare and eventually in late July, I began the book.

It took me awhile to finish it, but when I did, I was upset. I remember thinking, “That’s it? What about Frank? Does Claire ever get back to him (not that I wanted her to, mind you)? And WHAT ABOUT THE BABY?!” Needless to say, I wanted more. So then - finally - I researched it and discovered that it was a series. Oh - that made it so much better!!! And then I discovered it had been turned into a series and the first episode has JUST aired - I couldn’t believe it!!

So I went to the Starz website (I only had basic cable at the time - only about 13 stations), and was able to watch the first episode for free.  I was IN LOVE! I had just finished the book, so it was very fresh in my mind, and the first episode was very much like how I had imagined it. True, Caitriona didn’t really look like how Claire was described in the book, but that just really didn’t matter to me. She BECAME Claire to me, and Sam instantly became Jamie. 

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to watch any more episodes until October, when I finally figured out how to get Starz - and that was exactly the time when the Wedding episode came out. I watched the 2nd episode (Castle Leoch) first and then immediately skipped to the Wedding episode because I HAD TO WATCH THAT!!! And then I backtracked and watched the others in between. But I was still in love and have been since the first time I watched Episode 1. 

I’ve now read all the books, of course, and am eagerly awaiting Season 4.
