Kurt hummed quietly to himself as he moved through his apartment, quickly cleaning and picking up things as he went along. His life had finally started going back to normal, and he was finally comfortable leaving his place again. He hadn't heard from Tristan in weeks, and that had lifted more of a weight off of his back than he'd realized had been there. When he first found out Tristan was in town, Kurt had honestly been afraid to leave his own apartment. He'd missed his classes for a few days, and more or less locked himself away in the safety of his own apartment. There had been no reason to think that Tristan would find him - even in a town as small as Cotton Plant - but that knowledge hadn't comforted him much. Hearing a knock on his door, Kurt raised a brow. He knew the town was small, but he hadn't thought that much time had passed since he and Silas had finished talking. "Well that was fast. You really are bored," he called out, crossing the apartment in a few strides and unlocking the door with a smile on his face. As he pulled the door open, though, the smile quickly fell, and he froze. Tristan was there.

Before he knew it, his ex was breezing into his apartment, talking about how Kurt was going to give him another chance because he owed him that much after sending him to jail on trumped up charges. "Tr-Trumped up charges. You are kidding me, right?" he snapped, finally coming out of his frozen state and quickly following him into the apartment, leaving the door behind him open. "You nearly killed me you sadistic prick," he snapped. The two argued for what had to be nearly ten minutes before it finally seemed to sink into Tristan's mind that he wasn't ever going to win Kurt back. That was when the old Tristan came back. The backhand to his face hadn't been expected, and it sent Kurt sprawling to the floor, but unlike the first time he had dealt with Tristan, Kurt knew how to defend himself this time.

Grabbing his ex's ankle as the taller man went to kick him in the ribs, Kurt yanked as hard as he could on his leg to knock Tristan on his ass before quickly pulling himself up off of the ground. Knowing that he couldn't get to his phone - Tristan was in between him and where he'd left his cell phone on the kitchen island - Kurt instead just slowly backed up away from the man. He was prepared to fight if he had to, but he was hoping he could just evade him until Silas got there. "Tristan just stop," he said, shaking his head a bit as the man picked himself up off the floor. "You can leave, and I won't tell anyone you were here. Just...come on. Go back...go back to New York...I'll act like you were never here. Just...just leave, okay?" He was trying to talk the other man down, and a part of him knew it wasn't going to work, but he had to try, right? Sure enough, though, Tristan just shook his head, laughing that same sadistic laugh that he'd done the night he'd almost killed him before making some kind of comment about how if he couldn't have Kurt, he sure as fuck wasn't about to let someone else tap his ass.

Tristan easily closed the space between them, lunging at Kurt, but this time Kurt was ready. Raising his hands in defense, he side-stepped the other man and pushed him into a nearby lamp, silently cursing as it shattered to the ground when Tristan crashed into it. It didn't seem to phase the other much, though, because he quickly turned around and lunged at Kurt once more. Searing pain crossed his face as Tristan's fist collided with his jaw, sending him backwards a few paces, and he managed to throw his own punch, but it didn't do much as Tristan threw his full weight at Kurt, pinning him against a nearby wall and throwing a sharp punch against his ribcage. With Tristan's hands clamped tightly around his throat, Kurt started to panic. Whatever lesson's he'd been taught seemed to disappear as his air supply was cut off. He tried to fight against Tristan's body weight, tried to claw at his hands, but there was no mistaking the fact that Tristan had a good fifty pounds on him in muscle alone. The sides of his vision started darkening, his fight becoming less virgous as it had before, and he tried to call out for help, but it wasn't doing him any good.
