I started writing poetry as a way to take a break from the rigid scientific method. I wrote this shortly after becoming a Nation. My friends from the Arts faculties told me that I should let my ideas flow and not stop to erase anything... It’s a little bare bones from what I’m seeing on the Internet, but I hope you like it!

VAIN - By Ethos

The man steps into the creek.

He washes his arms and the water freezes,

He washes his legs and it melts again.

The soil furthest from the sky is his own to embrace.

He tears at the permafrost with nails that can hold no more dirt, 

And in the feeble hole plants a cluster of weeds.

“Thanks... I guess. It means a lot.” I replied. Oh now what was this? Friendship occurring? You know damn well that doesn’t last. Now, if you want to speak to me figure out a way. I’ll be watching~‘What the hell was that? I’ll just ignore it.’ I thought.

“What do you like? I can introduce you to a few things if you like... I have a pretty broad range of things I enjoy.”
