I used to believe in order to survive in this world you must be tough. That when something hurts you, you should fight back and most importantly donāt let anyone know it affected you. You should never appear weak. As Iāve grown up I have realized that it is very much a lie. Life is going to hurt you and you definitely will not be tough forever. There will be seasons when you feel high up on a mountain then the next you will feel like youāve been thrown off the top. It will affect you. It will rearrange you, make you set out searching, and it will also build you. Thereās no running from it. It will happen it's inevitable, but when it does I hope you find the courage to keep going and when you fall I hope you fall gracefully and if it hurts I hope you tell someone, hold someone, love someone because you need it. We all need it. God gives us these seasons to humble us, to show us that there are so many things we must feel, that there really is pain to be felt at times, to remind us that we canāt do this life alone. There is beauty in the mess you just got to trust the process. So let it hurt, let it burn, cry, scream, laugh, and heal. We will all be okay one day. Trust your season. Trust Him.
āFor everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.ā Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
If they are real breathing human, I'm sorry but they will not be perfect. In fact, they will be messy and sometimes to them their mess will feel like too much. Please choose to love them anyway.
things to consider while loving a human
God is rooting for you don't give up.
I havenāt been the best version of myself lately. I havenāt been treating the ones I love like I love them and I am ashamed of that. Iāve screamed at you in the hallways, my car, the cafeteria and in my mind constantly,Ā
and I am sorry. I am sorry for the things Iāve said to you when I was angry. I am sorry I havenāt been obedient or patient. I am sorry I let my hope crumble down to nothing. I am sorry that I have been barely holding on to my faith, and I am sorry for the way I have treated you, pretending you were lying when you said you would always be here,Ā
but you are here. You showed up even when I refused to see it. Your light still finds me.
You were there. You were in the nurse who was begging Greenville Memorial to take my dad and you were in the 2am ambulance ride to get there. You were the stranger who sat beside me quietly holding tissues while I was crying. You were in the group of people praying the waiting room. You were in 6 year old Sophie holding my legs telling meĀ āhe is going to walk out of there any minute donāt worryā. You were in the nurse who wrapped my mother in warm blankets all throughout the night. You are in the doctor who told us he refuses to give up. You were in the man in the elevator telling his daughterĀ āyou see that, you get to choose how pain effects you. Donāt let circumstance in this world make you hard. Please donāt ever think that is the answerā.Ā
Iāve seen you God. I still see you. You are the little light in everything. You are always there, always. I am sorry it took so long to really see that.

Today I experienced the worst panic attack I have ever encountered at the doctors office. I wasnāt alone I was surrounded by people who truly cared. My father caught me when I passed out and the nurse hugged while I cried and said sorry. This is what makes humans important it's a purpose. I am so thankful God created humans that love and care. No they may not have understood what was going on, but they tried and supported me when I couldnāt support myself. God, thank you for creating love.
I donāt blame you. I donāt even blame myself anymore. I blame life. I blame life for a having the power to be absolutely breathtaking beautiful one second then heartbreaking the next but then time happens and itās beautiful again.
I look at my friends, my family, love, strangers and I see that God is so real. He is in them. Dancing around ready to be loved. When I see them, I am reminded of the beauty of this life has to offer. The beauty of humans even when it's hard to see.
