As to how the Freelings found Asmanthus it's actually very sudden — Nathan found him in the vents and the family just kinda accepted him as this ' sentient pet ' . They let him live in the vents alongside Jessica and Abaddon (?) so he doesn't scare away the rare guests for yk, being a demon dragon. The reason Nathan can hold him is actually because Asmanthus was summoned from the paranormal through a Ouija board ritual — Which is why he's both physically there while related directly to Demons and ghosts. It's kinda complicated so as briefly as i can explain is ; he has paranormal abilities and relation while also having a physical form, so both the others and Nathan (+ other ghosts) can hold him
