Ive been rewatching s2 and it’s just Will really went through a crucible in the asylum: he had this terrible awful knowledge of what was happening and he was pleading to every one he knew to listen and it. It was still only Hannibal who was listening and the minute someone did listen (Bev) Hannibal immediately and quickly removed that threat and taunted Jack again by placing her at the observatory. like the observatory being a tie to Abel, to Miriam, to Jack’s inability to listen when Will talks and the subsequent punishment Hannibal will give out if he does and the only other person we see believe Will is Bedelia who doesn’t (won’t) do anything about it so Will’s left with an anchor as a lifeline of course he drowns in it of course he becomes just as obsessed with Hannibal in those moments it’s like crying wolf and the wolf says i know i know you are right and i will make them pay attention
