Also, remember, even when I use another comic's plot as the basis, it does not make every single thing that happened in that comic canon to my own, but rather, uses your knowledge of those events to help me skip over some events in my own. From there on out it could diverge significantly.

Anyways, I truly have very little to go off for Color so I'm really just vibing, really just throwing ideas at the wall. Dream's aura helps significantly, but not being Ink also helps quite a bit too. Actually, the Dream getting called a kid here WAS accidental. Color spent too long isolated in no where talking to almost no one except a bunch of children in his head and Gaster LMAO. It will be funny to see whether I continue to stand by my writing of him as his comics progress or if I will look back and go, hm, should have changed that there and this here.

Though they're both friendly with each other, neither of them are particularly willing to share more than they have to. I keep SAYING Dream would likely keep his nature somewhat on the down low but all the characters he's been interacting with so far already know about it, so here's finally my chance to show exactly how he avoids revealing information he think could hurt his ability to help someone (like talking about his empathy powers). Color's ONLY hint here is that Dream is not a Sans, and he's 500 years old, but even then, Color thinks its a joke. Even though it seems like Color is being open with Dream, he's really just sharing what was immediately on his mind from his interaction with Ink. He is keeping the rest hush hush for now, too.

I would like to note for everyone, Dream in these comics will blush whenever he's happy (or embarrassed) NOT because he's romantically interested in someone. Call it my headcanon for how his positive energy works. The more it goes up, the more his face turns gold.

i genuinely don’t think I’ve seen another person talk about Dream’s aura. Not really. It is one of the most interesting and kind of scary parts of his powers. It is canon that he can effectively overdose people on positivity and they can become obsessed. It doesn’t happen all the time because he is constantly on the move, but it can happen. It can make them fall in love normally too. We also see Nightmare do very similar things in the opposite direction, only his aura, much stronger, turns people in mindless killing things rather than people. Dream’s aura is much more subtle. Maybe you wouldn’t even notice it while he was there, his presence is always a calming sensation. A mood lifter from any stage of mood. But when he leaves, all that disappears in an instant. Love for him can never be guaranteed as “true” or just a hallucination of his soul. All of this weighs on him.

Color is not immune to its effects, though, I don’t think every person necessarily would act crazy because of it. I think it depends on how well a person can manage their reactions to their emotions, and how they process them mentally. I think Color doubts himself a little though, because he doesn’t like to be alone, and Dream’s departure is the most poignant loneliness one could ever feel.

Color is experiencing a lot of emotions here, a very chaotic mix of l knowing too much, but still being presented with information that changes a lot for him, of wanting to learn more but not knowing what that means. He spent so long in the void, without a story, that suddenly the change up is both exciting and a bit frightening. Dream says there’s a place he could go, but he can’t go anywhere for very long, he has to return to his void. And, although he generally likes Dream’s presence (at least a lot more than Ink), it’s still one of the first people he’s met and forgive him for being a bit distrusting and closed off, though he tries to act friendly.

all that combined with Dream’s aura which is overly relaxing his emotions. The second Dream leaves, the loneliness is overwhelming. Which begs the question. Is Dream just that nice of a presence to have around, or is he manipulating Color’s emotions on purpose?

Color doesn’t know. Anything could happen now, and he still doesn’t know what his place in it is meant to be. That’s a bit nerve racking, I think. What does it mean to experience a completely different story from the one you were ripped away from?

Also, I think it’s fun to see how they have yet to figure out how each other communicates compared to the later comic with them. Color is still learning all of Dream’s little quirks and Dream has no knowledge on what happened to Color to actually know how to talk to him in the most beneficial way.

Ink’s getting really out voted on the whole “how stories work” thing. Literally no one else believes that characters can just wrench themselves from a script and go interfere with others LOL. Color thinks that everything that ever happens will be intended. Dream agrees with him. But they see this in very different lights. Still, Color is jealous of Ink, isn't he? ;)
