“I could see why that would be problematic, but I do not believe Watari would do such a thing as he is fully aware of how reliant I am on my sugar intake and how much removing it from my life could affect my ability to complete my job.”
“However, for the sake of answering your question, I would simply source my own sugar supply. I am an adult after all and do not technically require another grown man to provide me with my pleasantries in life. So if he were to take such drastic measures, I would simply take initiative and provide myself with the luxuries I desire.”

What are your thoughts about your fans who label you as, "The Smartest Man In The World"?
“I believe that labels do not define who you are as a person, but who people see you as. So if they see me as the smartest man in the world, so be it. That, in no way, means I am nor does it mean I ever will be. I am still very capable of getting things wrong and there is still much in the world which I need to learn. I may be smart in the sense that I can solve mysteries and significantly lower the crime rate, but I am not smart in other senses.”
“For example, I could never achieve the things Stephen Hawking has in his years but at the same time I doubt he could achieve the things I have either.”
“To be the smartest man in the world I would have to have the highest level of intelligence possible in every subject and topic known to man, something I do not possess. What would you do if you were faced with a Human Trafficking case?
“It entirely depends on the kind of human trafficking and if there was any amount of risk associated with the case - not for me, obviously.”
“I would have to assess the options presented to me and the methods as to which I could stop the process and therefore arrest the criminal(s) involved. There is a lot of risk posed to the victims involved in human trafficking, especially if anyone were to attempt to interfere so I would have to put their safety first before proceeding to close the case.”
“Plus, there would have to be a large team involved in the case as to ensure all the victims (including the ones who had been sold on before our involvement) could be rescued and returned to their lives, no matter how long it may take, therefore I would have to make an informed decision on those whom I may want to involve in my team.”

L stared at the note for a while, his gaze glancing between the note and the gifts. This was one topic that thoroughly confused the detective and he wasn’t entirely sure as how best to reply to her offer. Of course, he couldn’t accept her arrangement… L didn’t do dates, nor did he agree with leading people on with the assumption of false affection.
Instead, L shuffled over to Watari’s office, leaning against the door frame with a sigh. “Watari, it appears to be happening again. Will you please send my apologies to Miss…” He checked the card, “Otaku-hime and say that I cannot accept her invitation but that I graciously appreciate her offer. Thank you.”
