From O-Studios, this big dragon puppet for Shrek the Musical was carved out of pink XPS foam boards and skillfully detailed. The #HotWireFoamFactory Sculpting Tool was used to cut out hundreds of individual foam scales to give the dragon's skin a beautiful texture. Plus, the old wooden snake toy trick was applied to the tail and neck and made for some@incredible movement! Something a little different from me. I've been having a lot of fun expanding the commercial side of my business, so when Sarah at Oliphant Studios recommended me for a job, to take place in the actual Santa's grotto of backdrops making, I couldn't say no. I had every backdrop on earth at my disposal and I can't remember how many drops we shot with. This job for Little Gloriana was a day of utter organised chaos and I loved every second of it. Lots of kids, dogs, backdrops and fun. I won't lie, shooting with dolls was harder than I thought it would be, it's just hard to have them not overpower the photograph. I didn't think I was good with kids, but in the end I just did the same things I would do with an adult. If I noticed they weren't comfortable, I handle it exactly as I would with an adult. They are little adults after all! Let's see where all this commercial work takes me...
