i actually hate frankenstein (i blame it on having to study it too much) but her actual ideas and scope are amazing, and the fact she was able to write it all too at such a young age AND get it published is amazing.

she is the ultimate self insert character. which is funny, because they do it in order to make their own 'mr darcy' but.... the only reason lizzie really actually comes round to him is his MONEY.

the brontes are queens. and not that he was all that great a person but hardyās tess walks all over anything dickens wrote bar great expectations. two cities is only memorable cos of the opening line.
yeah hardy wasn't amazing (though whereas he was just a bit of a dick, dickens was appalling). tess >>>>>>>>. i'd say that, and the bronte's books make dickens pale in comparision. heck i would even say shelley and her unfinished teenage attempt that is frankenstein is better than some of austen's stuff.
