Today, Active Minds at Ithaca College was awarded the honor of "Outstanding Existing Student Organization of the Year" for 2012-2013 by The Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs. The award honors our work on De-Stress Fest, Speak Your Mind, Everybody Matters, Active Bodies, Active Minds, National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, and our year-round efforts to change the conversation around mental health. This organization has brought purpose to our time at Ithaca College, and has allowed us to bring positive change to the culture surrounding mental health on our campus. It's also helped us to form valuable friendships and make countless memories. This major honor is a great way to end an incredible year for Active Minds at Ithaca College. We thank the students, faculty, and staff who have been a part of our year, either by attending or volunteering at one of our events, contributing to our ongoing discussion of mental health in our lives, or just supporting us in our lives as students. We look forward to being to tell you about everything we have planned for the Fall 2013 semester! Remember as always: "We may not all have mental illness, but we all have mental health." - Alison Malmon Best, Ithaca College Active Minds
