SIMCITY WILL GET LARGER CITIES:
The Orion mod adds three square miles to a city unscrewing the original perimeter of two square kilometers in SimCity 2013. The mod is in its beta version right now.
“City Scope is an ongoing debate among our players since the release of SimCity,” says Patrick Buechner, general manager of Maxis Emeryville studio. “We have for months figured out how to make cities bigger, without the performance of the game suffering. Ultimately, there was no solution.” Maxis therefore decided to stop investing there time and effort anymore in larger cities.
In October 2013 Maxis announced that SimCity gets an offline mode as a remedy to many problems the game had faced.
