I'm trying to imagine what this world would be like if it were made of paper.
Everything is paper. The streets are paper, the houses are paper, the sky is paper,
paper,
paper,
paper.
Everything crumples and tears as I drag my shoes against the ground. Everything folds and rips as my feet leave fleshy impressions on the floor.
But perhaps if the world were made of paper, it would be a whole lot easier to go around.
We could write about the places we've been, and where we're bound to go. We could transform any place into anything we'd like. We could make this world a little better than it really is.
Because, sadly for us, the world isn't made of paper. The streets are made of stone, the houses are made of brick and steel, and the clouds are droplets of rain frozen against some light blue tapestry.
Sadly for you, you must be at home or at the library, reading this on some wooden table or as you recline on a couch.
And wherever you are, I hope you're at least happy or comfortable.
Because sadly for me, I'm stuck in a forest.
