the purples of nature 💟
Oregon iris (I. tenax) has strong leaves that can be braided into ropes. one of seven native irises to Oregon, it can be made into a tincture in order to help treat depression and for bilious vomiting. also, clearly it’s a bee-lovin’ plant.
wild pansy (V. tricolor) is sometimes known as heartsease, it’s believed to help with heart wellness. it is also used to treat eczema and other various skin conditions, along with asthma and epilepsy.
Here’s a wild iris that was blooming near Oregon’s Alsea Falls. Lovely, yes?
I wanted to throw in more photos of Oregon Iris (Iris Tenax) which was certainly very photogenic. All of these photos were taken at the Finley Wildlife Refuge in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.
