Disclaimer: Please note this is my view of magic, mana, and relations to mainly Ore's world building. All this is mix sources between my own thoughts and multiple media.

Traces of magic can be found farther then imagination. Religion and culture are laced with the etchings of beings harnessing magic. So many different types that one can’t even fathom though they all have one thing in common. Mana, mana is found in everything. From the average person to the smallest pebble, the amount in something will vary depending who or what is being used. Humans affinity for only one or two types commonly. Fire, earth, water, air, dark, and light are the key founding of someone magic. During the infancy of magic, someone would spend their whole lives learning the single affinity. Though as time past people starved to be something more. The way to push beyond limitations natural laws have set.

The only way to expand the limitations is through magical items, deals with fae or creatures, or a sleigh beggy. A sleigh beggy carries the purest form of magic with no limitations of how many affinity they can master at once. They can be used like a magical item transferring mana into someone it needs. Think of it like an average mage using mana through a straw pulling out what they can accomplish, but a sleight beggy mana is wide as a river endlessly flowing and growing wider with time. Mages form bonds through familiars aiding them to widen their mana. Alchemist trade elements to create more possibilities.

Mages and alchemist have dwindle in numbers sole reason being as time past less wanted to teach but keep their ways a secret. Modern people polluted and close minds lost any sense to carry the trade of magic going. It can advance but also some are too pompous to teach their trades keeping secrets from each other to have the upper hand. Spells and alchemy lost in time due to them not wanting others to know their gifts.
