Orchestration Tip 1: Dialog
One of the most important and effective techniques in orchestration is to create a dialog between instruments. The melody need not be constant. Writing long-held notes allows for a countermelody to sing in its place!
Track used:
I believe I was inspired by the TRON (2010) soundtrack by Daft Punk when I composed this a year or so ago. I was obsessed with soundtracks back then so I still remember some of the music (which I enjoyed more than the movie itself).
No synths. All orchestral.
