#oras talk

i dont know if its because i havent played rse in years, but i dont remember team aqua and team magma having real reasons behind their desires to expand the sea and land respectively. i also didnt remember that the admins existed at all, and i dont remember what their personalities were like, or if they even had individual personalities unlike the grunts.

so the redesigns to both their outward appearances and their personalities was really nice! i appreciate it a lot because it makes both teams a lot more fleshed out than in the original, and i think it's a huge improvement and one of the stronger points of oras.

i mentioned tamashii's video because a few days ago i came across some blogs that identified themselves as "oras negative" and at least one of them was quite upset about the changes made to team aqua and team magma.

(putting aside that being upset about the designs themselves might be latent racism in team aqua's case or fatphobia in tabitha's case...)

it just makes me wonder?? since tamashii mentioned she liked the teams for "things she projected onto them," i wonder if it's the same for some of the people who are upset about the teams' changes in oras. do people not like oras because it shatters their vision of what they wanted teams aqua and magma to be rather than what they really are?? since they werent so fleshed out in the original games it makes sense that people would project things onto them, and i suppose it makes sense to be disappointed that your vision was different from game freak's, but... idk, making entire blogs about how much you hate the games seems like a bit much...?
