Chicken teriyaki, Orange King

The look of this place hasn't changed in the 20 years I've been coming to the U District. But honestly I can't remember ever eating here. Maybe it was the odd name, tacky orange decor, wood paneling, and odd offering of teriyaki togther with burgers. But I was finally swayed when I saw Orange King on a list of best teriyaki in Seattle (https://www.thrillist.com/eat/seattle/the-ultimate-guide-to-seattle-s-teriyaki-best-teriyaki-in-seattle-thrillist-seattle). Also, there’s much discussion about whether the teriyaki scene is dying in Seattle, and I wanted to show my support for this Seattle favorite, which seems to capture the best of the hidden corners of our city. We waited a while for the teriyaki to arrive, probably because they were grilling it to order. When I finally did get it, I found tender juicy meat and understated teriyaki marinade and sauce. I was very pleased and definitely won’t let it be another 20 years before I return. I might even prefer this to Nasai. Maybe I’ll try the burger next!
