I’m actually like- not to step into discourse but I’ve really actually just seen someone say GO2 was disappointing because neither queer couple got together but “the straight one” didn’t even have to wait. Like. Beelzebub is literally canonically non-binary. Plus I believe Neil said all the angels perceive gender differently so they could be considered non-binary either way- GABRIEL AND BEELZEBUB IS A HAPPY QUEER RELATIONSHIP.
I heard shit about “oh but they’re straight passing”
1 look me in my eyes and tell me seriously that Beelzebub looks cishet.
And 2 in my experience straight passing just means ohhh that queer person isn’t performing their identity according to my specific qualifications.
Also not to mention that magician shop guy and his partner, I think it was said they were married for 10 years or an anniversary was happening or something. Happy not “straight passing” queer couple right there just casually featured in that episode.
So Good Omens 2 obviously doesn’t have an issue showing happy queer relationships, you’re just hurting because the main characters are hurting, let’s not invoke clumsy social justice language over the show making you sad which was the point. And let’s definitely not act like a relationship with one canonical non-binary character and one could -100%-be-interpreted-as-non-binary-according-to-what-the-writer-said character being in a relationship together “the straights getting priority over queer people.”
