Day 3- Nonbinary November Tarot Challenge
Day 3: Spectrum
Today’s instruction was to choose a signifier to represent myself, and also references the two cards from yesterday’s reading, the Page of Vessels and the Two of Stones. I’ve never actually chosen a signifier before, so after some googling, I poked through the Wildwood and picked out the King of Arrows - Kingfisher for myself, partly because the Arrows is the suit of Air in this deck, and because the King represents power, force of will, impartiality, and the ability to see clearly what you no longer need to hold onto. And, in part, the clearsightedness and impartiality are qualities that I associate with myself.
The next part of today’s drawing is to shuffle the signifier into the deck and see where it falls in relation to yesterday’s cards. (note for the future: spreading cards on flannel sheets... doesn’t exactly work).
The King of Arrows showed up between the Page of Vessels and the Two of Stones. Interestingly, the Two of Stones showed up to the right of the Page of Vessels, the same orientation that they showed up in in relation to the Wanderer yesterday. And, the Kingfisher being in between the two seems appropriate- there are definite aspects of both masculinity and femininity to my sense of gender, but the stack of cards between the King of Arrows and the Two of Stones was much smaller than that between the King of Arrows and the Page of Vessels. Given that I’ve been putting more energy into exploring and performing masculinity, that makes sense.
