The Dumbbell Nebula - M27 A couple of firsts with this one, first time on this target and first time I ran two telescopes, both imaging, at the same time. My son Karl really helped me a lot setting everything up and monitoring how things ran. M27 is a little small for my longest focal length, but it was fun gathering data on such a popular target. New for me, I am happy with how it came out, especially with only 1 hour of data. Hectic past few months made for some much needed time to introvert under the stars. The first two tries last week were cut short due to clouds forming at around midnight and also confusing Betelgeuse and Mars (which ate up a whole hour on the first try), but with lessons learnt, the third attempt was quick to setup, align, and get rolling, so I finally got my first Horsehead Nebula image that I've been waiting for this past year. Obviously still room to improve but it's enough for a first visit!
