Am I a rat, or a meerkat? 

There’s always one in every family... !

Remember Major Hill, the sweet (and brave! and evasive!) young girl we rescued from Major’s Hill park in downtown Ottawa last fall? Her days living in chipmunk holes underground are long gone. She now lives happily with one of our adopters. Here she is with her new buddies in a snuggly situation.

It’s Albino Rat Appreciation month! We love albino rats! They are sweet, affectionate and full of personality. Unfortunately, these types of rats are the least likely to be adopted, and some of the most abused (in laboratory experiments). They have just as much love to give as any other breed of rat, and deserve more love from humans. We are big fans of albino rats!

We recommend that you wait at least three weeks after neuter before intro’ing a boy rat to girls, just to be safe! :)
