Peace is an ideal in her mind. Sure, relative peace can be achieved, but overall? In this world where people are divided by wealth? Where the rich prey on the poor? Where wars are waged in the city-states beside her own, where her people are sent to fight too? Unthinkable, peace is. All she can hope is for all the issues to be evaded, and for this relative peace to last as long as possible.

Not particularly, and that is only because she believes that if karma were something that was real, by now she should have suffered its cruel hand. She has done one too many things that were not so righteous, that were what some may say was the devil’s work. She has yet to pay for it... or at least, perhaps she doesn’t realize that she is paying at this moment.

Yes and no. The Zaunite in her wants to believe that everything that she has in her life now is because of her own hard work, that it was not luck that delivered the wealth and company she has now, the roof over her head and the food on her table. And why would she want to believe otherwise? To chalk up her accomplishments, born of sin or good-will, as the mere results of constant luck is an insult directed towards no-one other than herself.
But another part of her does believe that luck exists, because despite her hard work there have been enough times where she thought she would fail or pass away and turn to dust, and yet she is given chances upon chances to better herself and her situation. It was not her doing that brought the recruiters of the Royal Rose to her when she was sixteen, and without that, none of what she has now would exist. And perhaps, neither would she.
How then, is she supposed to disregard the existence of luck?

It may or may not happen. She herself did not ever experience it, but from what she remembers of her parents and the stories they told her of their love, it was exactly that way for her father when he first lay eyes on her mother.
For Valentina - a woman who meets with many men and sees them throughout the many hours of the day - love at first sight just... does not happen. Whether it be because of the routine of her life, the expectancy of meeting with yet another customer, or what-have-you, she cannot feel that sort of bubbly, infatuated excitement that she’s only heard of through word of mouth. For her, love takes time to develop and grow.
