i can't stop thinking about this- during masquerade, has the don juan triumphant book ever been dropped after the phantom throws it? i feel like that's a part of the show that could go wrong very easily, or maybe i'm just projecting my very poor hand-eye coordination
It's apparently happened at least once, according to the Lamentable Mess website:
Enjoying reading all the little mistakes… but that makes the show special. Can't remember which show and phantom it was…. but while he was walking do the stairs as Red Death…. he tossed the big book and instead of catching it…. it landed with a HUGE thud! The place went deadly quiet…. and it was picked up, humbly begging forgiveness… as the Phantom replied: 'See that it NEVER happens again!' and continued on. Most of the audience went with the flow… and my friend and I just giggled. (PhoenixRose)
That being said, I don't think I've caught it on any bootlegs, and I think it might be less difficult than you imagine. The score being thrown is fairly flat and large, which means it won't deviate from its path after being thrown much; furthermore, it's being tossed down from the Phantom to one of the managers, which I imagine makes it easier to aim and catch. And finally, depending on the Phantom, sometimes the two are standing relatively close by, like in this video where it seems like the actors are only 5 feet apart:
I mean, it's probably easier than throwing the necklace in Elisabeth das Musical, where you have to aim a relatively small object at a guy standing on a catwalk with limited range of movement, and which has been missed... multiple times.
opera-ghost hat dich in einem Eintrag erwähnt “should i bring this acc back ”
@timebird84 i admire your resilience! you seem like you've been pretty consistent over the years, can't say the same for myself lmao
@opera-ghost I’m old, I’ve settled and I’m ready to go down with this ship, if I have to xD.
have you done phantom hands™ for bronson yet? if not i'd love to see a gifset of that :)
I have not, but I’ll put it on my list! It’s No. 4 in the queue. I’m so slow with Phantom Hands because they take more effort to find. :P
opera-ghost replied to your post “yknow after making a post about how wonderful Katrina is I thought I’d...”
mimi i'm love you
Have you considered the following words:
I, meaning Mimi Rose Oh One, love you, in this case meaning Morgan Opera Ghost.

“Ignore him, babe.”
I killed two birds with one stone with this one (kinda??) I didn’t know E/R was such a popular/cute ship. I posted that other drawing at 12am and I woke up and it had more than 50 notes! Thanks guys!

If I remember correctly, you like the concepts where one aspect of the story is changed and such? Here's an idea: (it's Kay-based) What would happen if Erik's father (Charles) hadn't died? I feel like the story would be pretty similar to the original. What do you think?
Ooh, this is interesting! I actually think the story would be very different.
We don’t know much about what kind of person Charles was, and if he would reject Erik too. But I feel like it is implied that part of Madeleine’s actions were because she was still recovering from the pain of losing both her parents and her husband, and being left alone. I think if Charles was by her side, she would not be as sad and lonely. So, she would not be for so long self-pitying, crying about how her life is horrible and all she has is a horrible son. Charles would be there to support her.Â
So, even if he felt just like Madeleine did about Erik from the moment he was born, I believe that together they would come to accept the situation much more easily.Â
I also think that Erik would grow up in a better enviroment. Just as bad as the lack of love, was the lack of discipline. He did misbehave a lot, and none of the adults around him could control him. I think Charles could. I mean, he married Madeleine, stubborn and spoiled Madeleine.Â
And he could be a good role model too! Imagine little Erik watching him work on his designs every day, hiding, until he finally has the courage to ask to take a better look. And when Charles finds out he is not only interested in architeture, but gifted in it, he for the first time feels proud, for the first time feels that Erik is really his son, and they start bonding over it.Â
Finally, in the book Erik runs away from home because his mother fell in love again and he wants to give her a chance to be happy again without him to mess it. If anything, at least this would not happen if Charles was still alive. Erik would not feel like he is stopping his mother from being happy if she was not all alone.
Maybe Erik’s life would still be a mess from his teenage years on, maybe things would still go wrong after he left his parents’ home, but I think he would have had less traumas, less mommy issues, and so could deal better with what came afterwards.
hi glass! hope you had a wonderful christmas if you celebrate/a great holiday season in general!
i bought this jacket from a seller on depop, and the listing didn’t mention anything about its origins. i figured it was something given to cast and crew, with the embroidered name and all. i found 2 similar listings online that had already been sold, with the names “sid” and “randy.”
i couldn’t find any more details beyond the light googling i did, so i was wondering if you had any info for when these may have been made/distributed? whether it was for west end or broadway, etc etc?
(i attached two pictures to this ask, i’ve never used this feature for the inbox so i hope you’re able to see it)
thank you!
Yeah, I'm not too good with merchandise and such, so throwing this out for other people to answer! Anybody?
