Seventeen + Slytherin + Sixth Year + Homosexual + Male + Lucky Blue Smith
Sometimes you can’t be who you want to be and still please the people you love.
Lucius was loved deeply by his family and he loved them deeply in return. He grew up with the assertion that it was the Malfoys against the world, always pure, always better than the others and absolutely always together. He was unequivocally loyal to his family from a young age, probably because he was well loved and even more well looked after. He hated what they hated and loved what they loved, he even believed thoroughly in what they chose to believe in. As he grew older he grew no rebellious streak toward his parents either, they parented him to be exactly what they wanted him to be. Cruel, pragmatic and the perfect heir.
When he got to Hogwarts he was sorted into Slytherin and almost immedaitely managed to become one of the most popular in his house. His family told him how to be beautifully charming toward the people he liked and how to be demeaning to enemies without actually saying anything that could get him in trouble. He had being a Malfoy down to a fine art.
It was when he got to fourteen that he had his very first doubt. The very first time that he thought that he might not be the wholly perfect Malfoy that his parents wanted him to be was the day he realized that he was definitely gay. He could never have told his parents, he knew that immediately. He would have to marry and create an heir either way, to carry on the family name, so he kept it to himself. The only person who ever knew was a french boy he met at Summer Quidditch Camp, they’d shared stolen kisses behind the scenes but Lucius knew that it would never last. It never could last, because he had a responsibility to his family and every day that he gave into his desires he risked bringing shame to his family name.
Since his realization he’s become more and more withdrawn from his studies, more closed off and a lot less open to his friends. He has his walls up. He knows he should find a girlfriend to stop suspicion but he can’t bring himself to do it just yet. He only hopes that whoever his family chooses to be his wife will be proud enough of their own family name to keep his secret.
